Check your current contract
If you've already chosen a supplier, you may be under a contract. Find your rate, the expiration date, and any early-termination fee. An existing offer could already be competitive — switching isn't always better.
Check for aggregation
Some communities pool residents into an aggregation program with a chosen supplier. Don't assume Wilmington does or doesn't have one without verifying. Check your bill and official local information. If you're in aggregation, review its terms before switching.
Termination fees
Leaving a contract early can trigger a termination fee from your current supplier. AutoSave does not promise reimbursement of another supplier's cancellation fee. Factor any fee into your decision.
Assistance programs
Ohio PIPP/PIPP Plus and arrearage-crediting program participants should not leave assistance programs to enroll. Check your eligibility status before proceeding.
Account authority
Only an authorized account holder can change a supplier. If you rent and electricity is included in rent or controlled by your landlord, check your lease — you may not be able to switch.
